I’ve spent the last week in Pamplona, Spain and surrounding areas, eating wonderful food, drinking incredible wine, touring palaces, churches, cathedrals and citadels and practicing–un poquito–my Spanish. Contrary to popular American belief, there were no siestas and there was no sangria. But there are crave-able artichokes and white asparagus, an unending supply of cod, bulls (and bull meat) galore, sprawling forests, beautiful mountains, inexpensive and inventive wines, a fantastic hospital (medical tourism!), pilgrims, a vibrant festival filled with big heads and giants and an energetic and charming group of people that I can’t wait to visit again
I’ve arranged my journey in slideshow form to share. If a picture is worth 1,000 words, this slide show is worth 111,000.
